Ski-jumping   

Klemens Murańka, called Klimek was born in Zakopane, 31 August 1994. He got his passion for sport after his father Krzysztof Murańka who for many years competed in Nordic combined and biathlon. As a great fan of our prominent ski-jumper Adam Małysz, Klimek decided in 2002 to follow in his steps and started trainings under the guidance of Franciszek Groń-Gąsienica.

Between 2002 and 2004 Klimek improved his abilities and had his first successes. He became acquainted with various ski-jumps: K-5, K-15, K-23, K-35, K-40, K-60.

At the beginning of June 2004 Klimek started to train in the sports club Towarzystwo Sportowe Wisła-Zakopane where he practices until today. His coach was Józef Jarząbek. An unbelievable success of Klimek was his jump on Wielka Krokiew. Klimek turned in a jump of 135 metres, which is only 5 metres shorter than the record-breaking Sven Hannawald’s jump of 2003.

In 2005 Klimek worked very hard and achieved many successes. The most important of those was his first place during the Children's World Championships in Garmisch - Partenkirchen.
